Fees for lawyers in the TERRAVOCATS network are openly, and transparently, discussed, with clients. A scheduled of fee proposal, is then drawn up by the lawyer in accordance with rules of the profession.
The fee for an initial meeting is 100 euros HT (120 euros TTC).
Members of the TERRAVOCATS network commit to the issue of fees at the very first meeting, after having leaned of the client’s needs or complaint.
Network lawyers will systematically propose the best, and must adapted, means of payment for each individual case.
A contract outlining when and how fees shall be paid will be drawn up and signed by both partied, the lawyer and the client.
3 formulas can be proposed
Time based-fee
In this formula, fees are based on time spent on the case by the lawyer on the case based on his hourly rate. If this is chosen, network lawyers give the client an estimate of the total time required on the case, and upon request, share the time-log kept of all work done.
Flat-rate fee
This formula is generally used when the outcome of a given procedure is generally straightforward and predictable. It allows the lawyer to agree, with the client, on a fixed sum for the entire case.
If and when this is expressly decided between the lawyer and the client, a result-based fee can be agreed to base on a specified outcome of a case. This result-based fee will supplement a “minimum: fee also agree to based either on time spent or fixed flat rate fee.
Judicial Protection
If you are covered by a judicial protection clause by an insurance policy, your insurance company can partially, or wholly, cover the fees of the Network’s attorneys. Regardless of this, the client can choose his or her particular lawyer.
Making whole
The French law code (article 700) et le Penal procedure code (article 475-1) take into account the possibility for a given court to burden the loosing side to partially, or wholly, make whole your legal costs.
